Who’s LWD? That’s me!
Hi! I'm Emily.
I've been working with content management systems for websites since I made my first website in 2001. My education includes undergraduate degrees in Communication and Public Relations, with graduate work in Speech Communication. My professional background includes work in customer service, teaching, music and media production, social media, city revitalization, and currently commercial real estate. I spend my days as a full-time marketing director, but on my weekends, between crafting, baking, and playing music, (who needs sleep!), I enjoy helping anyone looking for an affordable website. Most of my skills have been hard won through doing it myself, with a tenacity of learning something I don't know until I do. I can't imagine living any other way.
A few years ago, a friend needed a website for their business. With no other reasonable options in town, I created a one for them. Then by word of mouth, their friend wanted one. And soon after that, it seemed everyone needed a website! So, Laurel Web Design was launched in 2012.
Why the name Laurel Web Design? The state flower of Pennsylvania is the Mountain Laurel and LWD just had a great ring to it. I wanted to pay homage to my home and name it something that signaled I was local. Mountain Laurel has bright fuchsia and white flowers, and blooms in the Spring. I started this company in May, and let's face it, I'm a sucker for anything fuchsia.
I hope I can help you with your website needs! Thanks for stopping by!
